"Aquaman In Captivity" Now In Full Color And Glorious Transmedia!

Day 7 of the #IllustrationADay Challenge.

I have officially set myself a new record for completing a new illustration every day for a week. That might not sound like a huge deal, but I'm really proud of it and I'm especially proud of the quality of the illustrations which I've been turning out. 

I decided to use today's illustration to loop back to one of my favorite pieces and hit it with some long-overdue color. I used watercolor (as I typically do) and went for a washed-out bubblegum palette. 

Unfortunately, I lost a lot of the color in the scan. I get all of my 11x17's scanned at FedEx and they typically do a great job, but I used a lot of really subtle colors on this one, and this was the best we could do. If anybody out there has a recommendation regarding how to get a better scan of watercolor, I'd love to hear it.

I was grooving to Miley Cyrus' new album while working on this one, and it really is surprisingly great. I've included one of my favorite tracks with the updated "Aquaman in Captivity" transmedia-comic, which you can check out below:
