Smell the Roses
The best part about growing up in a house with a heavy art flow, and predominant estrogen was the sarcasm and abundant laughter echoing from room to room. Naturally, in a place where people are so intensely happy they feel all other emotions with the same heart-gripping capacity. But not once is there a doubt that life is beautiful and being experienced at it's full capacity.
Smell the Roses is a children's poetry book made by two sisters with the intention of easing the hard moments and important lessons of life, by seasoning them with love and a little humor. Currently, my sister Carla is living in Bolivia, while I am in San Francisco, CA. This is the last conversation we had via whatsapp before publising our 1st children's book through CreateSpace.
Maria: Description ni idea. Let me look at other poetry books for kids and I'll try to come up with something.
CARLA: HE PUESTO "SMELL THE ROSES IS A COMPILATION OF 10 PLAYFUL AND HEARTWARMING POEMS WRITTEN FOR CHILDREN BY MARIA MEALLA AND COLORFULLY ILLUSTRATED BY CARLA MEALLA".
Maria : Don't you think that's a little vague? Like people might want to know what the poems are about?
Carla: No, I think it sounds great. You can make sneak peaks when you sell online. Like, they can see a poem en foto.
Maria: Shel Silverstein's say "that address many childhood concerns"...
